As I sit here sipping a delightful combination of coffee, Kahlua, rum, and Frang
elica, I think back to the first time I had a Cappuccino Calypso at Café Café in Lima, Peru.
The two-story cafe sits is located just across from Parque Central in Miraflores, making it the perfect place to grab a cup of hot or cold coffee or a bite to eat and just watch the crowds as they pass.
Café Café’s impressive menu includes over 100 drinks and dozens of different gourmet coffee blends. As you can see, I prefer my coffee with a bit of a kick. The folks at Café Café are happy to mix up your drink just the way you like it, or suggest a drink from their fine list of tried and true favorites.
Although famous for its coffee, for a quick bite to eat Café Café is also an excellent choice. The menu includes pizzas, salads and over 25 sandwiches all at a decent price. Larger dishes are also available for those who are in need of a real meal. My personal favorite is the BLT, which, although not being your traditional bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich (they put avocado on it!) is still delicious, and will change the way you make your BLT’s for good.
Meals are cheap; a hearty meal that fills you up can cost as little as just a few bucks. The menu ranges from about $2 to about $10.
I generally visit the Café Café located in Miraflores, right in front of Parque Central. The address is Martir Olaya 250 and the phone number is 01/445–1165.
There is another Café Café at Malecon de la Reserva and Av. Jose Larco.
