Drinks Out in Lima

Drinks Out in Lima

Heading out for a night in Lima? Stop at Bar La Noche de Barranco for a round of drink, located on Bolognesi 307, at Pasaje Sánchez Carrión.

The bar is a favorite among Lima residents with drinks and music nightly, open from 8 pm to 4 am. La Noche de Barranco has a Bohemian type feel, and Monday night is jazz night, which usually starts at about 10 pm.

For the last 16 years La Noche de Barranco has served up the best in drinks, live music, art exhibitions and more. It is considered the place for the underground music scene in Lima.

A night out in Lima at the Jazz Zone

A night out in Lima at the Jazz Zone

The Jazz Zone brings a little different flavor to the typical Peruvian music scene.  The cozy, intimate scene offers a pleasant little setting to enjoy musical performances by local and international musicians. If you aren’t that into jazz, is doesn’t really matter, the club/bar is a nice change of pace and makes for a good night out.

The Jazz Zone invites musicians who play a variety of typical Jazz, Latin and Acid Jazz, Peruvian Flamenco and more. The web-site www.jazzzoneperu.com keeps an up-to-date schedule by week, and by month of the artists that will be performing. (It is in Spanish).

Pisco Sours at Huaringas Bar in Lima

Pisco Sours at Huaringas Bar in Lima

Huaringas is my recommendation for cocktails in Lima. This popular and up-scale bar is located above the Brujas de Cachiche restaurant at Bolognesi 460 in Miraflores (the establishment is owned by one family).

Huaringas is one of the most visited bars in Lima, thanks mainly to its broad selection of drinks made with Peru’s National Liquor, the Pisco. (Huaringas also has non-alcoholic drinks… if you’re into that sort of thing.)

Fine Dining at La Rosa Nautica Restaurant

Fine Dining at La Rosa Nautica Restaurant

La Rosa Nautica is practically famous in Lima, set on Pier 4 of the Lima Beach Circuit. The view is incredible and the food is excellent, with both Peruvian and International fare to choose from.

As with every restaurant with a lot of hype, La Rosa sometimes finds it hard to live up to ever diner’s expectations. I have heard the complaints, especially from those who are on pre-paid tour packages, but all in all, the satisfaction among patrons is overwhelming.
